A portrait seems the most obvious photo to take when you are creating images about a person. However I wanted to do more than to only take images of my brothers appearance. I also wanted to tell a story about him. For example him with his family, friends or before a big tennis match in the changing rooms.

There are two main ways to make portraits. The first of these is to simply take a photograph of a person which clearly makes the model stick out from the background and focuses on the way a person looks. The second is to use surroundings that have to do with the model to tell a story about him. Both types of portraits should be taken in well light locations, however how wide the angle and focus is changes between the two types as there is more to be seen and focused upon when the model interacts with his surroundings.
